By default a drag and drop interaction resets its state once you leave the page. Is there a way to retrieve the last status once a user comes back to the page?

Yes, you can store and restore DnDs. We were initially thinking Maps might help, but decided to go with Lists instead. Here's a video and a sample lesson. You can jump to about the 3:45 mark to bypass the stuff on Maps, and just get to the solution.
