How to use global event with parameters
global event master pages

Hi,

I have a master page that is like a game board. When certain tasks on other pages are completed, I want to set an indicator (I'm using a shape) as correct or incorrect (so change the fill to green or red). I know on the exercise pages I can use the "fire global event" action block, and I see this can take a parameter. So, I've called my global event "status" and for the param I was thinking of using somthing like "task1-c" (for task 1 is correct) and "task1-i" (for task 1 is incorrect).

The problem I have is back on the master page. How do I detect the paramater and use that to set my status indicator to green or red?

Hi Pat,
I can't think of a better use for global event parameters!  Usually you can use variables for this sort of thing, but your situation would definitely benefit from the method you suggested.

You can find the block you want under the "Variables" category.  It's called "event parameter".  See the attached screenshot for how you would use it / where to find it.
